Why Amazon.com is King of The Online Book Jungle

When looking for books online to read these days most people will admit, Amazon.com is their first thought. Now, this is a service I figured many writers and readers would want to know about since it so easily connects writers and readers in a way that no other service has done before.

When looking for books online to read these days most people will admit, Amazon.com is their first thought. Of course there are others that come to mind, but none stick to memory like Amazon.com does. To be honest I’ve done it myself while in school and looking for the best deals online. I’ve also checked out Ebay.com a few times just so I’d be sure I wasn’t missing anything. Other notable sites include Barnes & Noble’s diverse online catalog. But the geniuses at Amazon.com decided to up the ante and continue to dominate the market with some additional services along with their competitive and diverse prices.

Amazon.com’s services are not just for book readers. They are also for the writers to utilize as well. One of the services being offered by Amazon / kindle combination is the ability of authors to self publish their books. Imagine being able to save yourself tons of cash in upfront fees by publishing on Amazon Kindle for free.

Being a writer you know that the work doesn’t stop there. But the fact that you can so easily tap into the kindle market through this tool offered by Amazon.com / kindle is something that sets Amazon.com apart from their competitors. Yes, this is a fanfare love letter about this service by the online leader in books sold over the last few years.

But as I said, we writers know that this is not the end of our work. This is just one platform that we can utilize to get our work in print, well sort of; at least digitally we will be in print. The books through Amazon Kindle are delivered by being downloaded digitally to your kindle device, or you can download a kindle app for your cell phone, or personal computers at any time. Then just add books to your collection for your viewing pleasure as a reader. There are also books available for free through various services that can be downloaded for viewing on your kindle app or device.

Now, this is a service I figured many writers and readers would want to know about since it so easily connects writers and readers in a way that no other service has done before. I will tell you why. Amazon.com also allows people to now create a full profile on amazon.com, which is a great marketing service that authors could use to give readers access to them and their work. When it comes to online marketing, the geniuses at Amazon.com have combined genius with ingenuity and have gone to levels others can’t even seem to understand. All I can say is; keep up the good work, and writers need to start paying as much attention to amazon.com as readers do.

I agree completely, Amazon is always my first stop when book shopping online. Another great site for ordering new books at a deep discount is EdwardRHamilton.com. I have purchased books that would have cost $25 or $30 at a brick and mortar bookstore for as little $5 to $10 and they are new books. Another great thing about this site is that you pay one flat shipping rate no matter how many books you buy. I will admit that ordering your books is not as simple as with Amazon because you have to print out the order form and snail mail it in with your payment but the great savings on brand new books make the effort worthwhile if time isn't a crucial element. I started buying books from Edward R. Hamilton Bookseller before they had an online site and I still receive their printed catalogs and sales fliers. It would behoove anyone who really loves books to check out their online site and to get on their mailing list as well. I have done business with them for over 25 years and I have never had a bad experience with them.

Thanks Jerry< I will definitely check them out, may come in handy with the school books I need.
