Once we get the contract back, we almost always have a book in print within 2 to 3 months, and sometimes more quickly than that. And when it does take longer than that, it is usually because the author doesn't submit the required material in a timely fashion. But that is uncommon. Regardless of the era, or the subject, try taking the kids to the library. The non-fiction area of the library has a lot of great reads, that are true. Non fiction history novels are absolutely an interesting, and fun way to learn about history.
